In December 2022, the Rooiels Outreach Trust funded 33 Christmas parcels for 23 vulnerable children and orphans housed at the children’s home in Kleinmond, as well as 10 children in foster care in poor households, under the supervision of the Kleinmond Child Welfare branch.
A number of enthusiastic Rooiels residents contributed generously to the contents of the gift packs, as well as helping to purchase, combine and wrap the parcels. The children were blessed with clothing, shoes, toiletries, backpacks, towels, stationary, as well as some sweeties and a few toys to bring them some festive cheer. The parcels were then distributed at the annual Christmas Party held at the children’s home.
