Overhills fire: school uniforms

In February 2023, in the Overhills district of Overstrand, 50 shacks were razed to the ground by fire, leaving many homeless. Amongst these were 30 children who lost all their school provisions and school uniforms. There were also 3 babies who lost their clothing.

This was a devastating blow to all those living in the area, as they had little or no resources to replace the lost items. Rooiels Outreach Trust was able to provide each child with two school uniforms, including a pair of school shoes. This enabled these children to attend school, helping to lessen the impact of the fire on them and their families. The babies were also given new clothing and blankets.

It is at times like these that we feel the gratitude of those we assist and how it is our privilege to be able to help them.
